About the Role

This role of FP&A Associate – Budget & Forecasting will involve Financial & Managerial Accounting responsibilities, monthly and quarterly reporting duties (including financial close), preparing and assisting with budgets and forecasts, treasury management and financial reporting consolidation.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing A/P and A/R functions relating to various revenue sources and associated trail commissions:
    • Prepare analysis related to company revenue sources
    • Ensure accuracy of receivables and payables
  • Assisting with month-end close process on a day-to-day basis including:
    • Preparing consolidated revenue calculations for multiple revenue sources
    • Assisting with the maintenance of all records and accounting files
    • Maintenance of financial reporting schedules
    • Calculating revenue and trails associated with specified client groups and revenue sources
  • Assisting in preparation of monthly management and board financial packages including consolidation of financial statements, actual versus budget variance analysis and compilation of Company Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reports
  • Identifying and remediating process gaps and implementing effective internal controls; improve documentation of internal control processes
  • Assisting in completing special projects as needed such as implementation of new cash management, management fee calculations and financial planning and analysis tools
  • Develop revenue and expense financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and decision-making by management
  • Executive level performance reporting for Revenue, Operating Expenses and KPIs. Provide analysis and insights into variances between budget vs. actuals, as well as real-time forecasting.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Corporate Finance / Accounting experience within the Financial Services industry. Familiarity with Alternative Investments would be preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite and/or General Ledger systems (i.e. SAP, PeopleSoft, Axiom) preferred, but not required
  • Treasury management, cash reporting and cash reconciliation experience
  • Knowledge of booking revenue and expense journal entries and the resulting impact to the financial statements
  • Experience with consolidation of financial statements
  • Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required
  • CPA / CFA license preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage large sets of data and be able to implement checks and balances
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented with big picture capability
