Funding specialist role reviews the closing disclosure to verify that we disburse all funds according to the closing disclosure for compliance. They review and verify the setup of the escrow file for the disbursement of payoffs, HOI, property taxes, broker compensation, and any other disbursements through the closing of the transaction. Funding specialists are responsible for balancing the escrow file to the lender closing disclosure or settlement statement. Funding specialists have strong attention to detail and are the final review before the disbursement of funds for the transaction.

Responsibilities

• Disbursement of checks, wires, and internal transfers
• Responsible for handling a funding pipeline of 30 files per day
• Balancing incoming lender wires to the final CD & notifying the lender of any discrepancies
• Final Verification of outgoing wires
• Reviewing invoices for payments & verifying amounts
• Contact banks for HELOC balance, if applicable
• Locating & verifying overnight addresses, wiring instructions, and correcting ABA information if they are not available
• Adhering to and calculating underwriter remittance based on state and underwriter requirements (Assistance is provided by a remittance calculator)
• If borrower contact was not made prior to the date of funding, verification of account information for borrower funds
• Producing a final settlement statement and disbursement ledger with delivery to the client
• Assistance with additional funding related items as needed
• Reviewing, following up, and escalating any past files not funded due to missing items/issues
• Working in a team environment to have a common goal to have all files funded for the day
