Job Description

Are you interested in being a part of the mission to cure cancer at MSK? We have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Reporting Associate to join our Investment Management Division (IMD).

 

In pursuit of patient care and scientific research, our team handles long-term investment assets in excess of $6 billion. You will be an integral member driving the empirical analysis, asset allocation, risk management, and reporting activities of the IMD. The primary responsibilities will be to oversee the production of various performance, exposure, and risk reports, and conduct quarterly asset allocation analyses. The role will also involve development, integration, and maintenance of the various systems and tools used across the Investments Office, both proprietary as well as those supported by third party vendors. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our work spanning fund investments in all asset classes (including global equities, hedge funds, fixed income, private equity, venture capital, and real assets) and engage in portfolio-wide activities (including asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management) across all investment pools for MSK.

 

AS THE INVESTMENT REPORTING ASSOCIATE, YOU WILL…

  • Develop, coordinate, and distribute reports summarizing performance and risk statistics, exposures, and liquidity for the IMD and the Investment Committee of the Board
  • Provide quantitative assessments of fund managers and multi-asset class portfolios
  • Report on portfolio factor exposures, peer group comparisons, expected long term asset class returns and volatilities, and modeling portfolio optimizations and suggested asset allocation changes
  • Conduct a variety of empirical and statistical analysis on, but not limited to, portfolio stress testing, scenario analysis, cash flow modeling, and portfolio projections
  • Partner with Operations to be responsible for and advance levels of service from the custodian and other service providers on performance records for portfolio investments, composites, and benchmarks
  • Highlight significant investment and portfolio trends, implications, considerations, and opportunities
  • Ensure the accuracy of and handle large analytical data sets
  • Lead interactions with key internal (Chief Investment Officer, Investment Strategy and Operations professionals) and external (consultants and service providers) constituencies
  • Represent MSK to the investment community, including attending relevant industry events and conferences
  • Engage with and mentor Analysts and Interns in the IMD

AS A CANDIDATE, YOU HAVE…

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably with another institutional investor or investment consulting firm
  • Strong quantitative, statistical analysis, and data collection skills
  • Experience with technology, systems, and tools in use by asset allocators including Bloomberg, research management, and performance reporting systems
  • Expert level proficiency in Excel, VBA, Access, and SQL
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and business intelligence tools to create dynamic presentations and graphics
  • Proven abilities to improve and automate workflows associated with data analysis and system integrations, including APIs
  • Knowledge of R, Matlab, and other statistical tools
  • A record of academic accomplishment, Bachelor’s degree required
