BentoBox is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to the Controller, this person should have knowledge of general accounting principles, including maintenance of accounts receivable and accounts payable, preparing journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Record vendor bills in Quickbooks Online
- Review and record credit card transactions in Quickbooks Online
- Act as a liaison for customers with billing inquiries
- Follow-up with customers regarding outstanding receivables on a weekly basis
- Assist with monthly close
- Maintain and record fixed assets
- Produce 1099-Misc and 1099-Ks at year end
- Analyze and perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with local tax compliance as needed
- Assist with audit preparations for external audits
- Ad-hoc analytics, supporting our growing finance team regarding all daily functions
Skills and Attributes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of accounting principles based on GAAP and accounting best practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Able to work in a fast-paced and agile environment
- Team player willing to help build efficiencies
- Self-starter with a positive attitude; good organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal skills
