We are building a Controllership dream team, and are on the hunt for a motivated, tech savvy, and analytical Corporate Accounting Manager, Revenue. You will play a key role at Noom, reporting to the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager.


We are experiencing rapid growth, and this manager position will have exposure to the entire leadership team . We are looking for an accounting revenue manager within the OTC finance department that handles different tasks in the order to cash process. You will support the Finance Team and help improve and iterate on processes and controls, so that it fits the actual state of this rapidly-growing company.


What You’ll be doing 

  • Under the direction of the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for all activities necessary for revenues of the institution
  • Help improve the order-to-cash process, establishing and monitoring controls
  • Responsible for assessing and improving the operational efficiency and internal controls of the OTC department
  • Ownership of the Revenue portion of general ledger financial close process and related activities, ensuring complete and accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including managing/reviewing close activities such as journal entries and account reconciliations within the established close timeline
  • Review and document complex customer contracts to ensure consistent application of revenue recognition policies in accordance with US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition)
  • Review revenue and deferred revenue journal entries and related reconciliations as part of the monthly financial close process, ensuring reconciling items are properly documented and establishing processes to prevent further occurrences 
  • Assist in the preparation of management reporting and comments
  • Work closely with partners across the business, Finance and IT, and strive to improve processes through automation
  • Manage auditors and consultant requests 
  • As a people manager, you will provide support to your team members and invest in their growth and success
  • Assist in documentation/implementation of internal controls and ensure SOX compliance in areas of responsibility
  • If needed, manage and own the implementation of new tools or softwares
  • As we look to expand product offering to B2B businesses, the candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of the implementation and automation of the B2B and partnership revenue stream from the ground up
  • Drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline accounting operations and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and internal controls


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or relevant field. CPA or equivalent credentials required
  • 8+ years of accounting experience (ideally with 2+ years of revenue/revenue recognition experience), with a minimum of 2 years of management experience and with 2 years of experience in relevant industry: public companies or hyper-growth startup. Big 4 experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting requirements
  • Experience preparing and maintaining internal controls for SOX compliance
  • Experience with a subscription-based/SaaS revenue model
  • Strong knowledge of accounting reporting systems, and other accounting automation technology.  Knowledge of Netsuite and Adaptive is a plus
  • Understand data technology workflow (API’s, Datastore)
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Google Suite required
  • Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks that adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
  • Experience managing a team of staff, senior accountants and consultants
  • Self-motivated and self-managed - able to think independently, creatively, and opportunistically
  • Sharp business acumen and process-oriented
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Fast learner and data savvy 
  • Data-obsessed and unafraid to go down to the lowest level of detail for truth
  • Proven ability to collaborate and partner with internal stakeholders and be a real team player
  • Iterative mindset, not afraid of rethinking and improving existing processes 
  • Attention to detail and confident to ensure that controls are in place
  • Knowledge in SQL and Looker is a plus
