Noom is looking for a motivated and talented Manager of Indirect Tax to join our growing team. We are a rapidly growing organization that offers a unique opportunity for the right individual to lead and develop their career. The Manager of Indirect Tax will report directly to the Director of Tax.

In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for the full life cycle of federal, local, and international indirect taxes including but not limited to data gathering, compliance, reporting, forecasting, IDRs, and ad hoc requests. The Manager of Indirect Tax is expected to have a strong working knowledge of workflow management, processes, data, and technology.  The position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills in order to properly service internal stakeholders and to work with external consultants.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Be internal lead for global indirect tax matters 
• Own full life cycle for global indirect taxes including but not limited to SUT, VAT, DST, business activity taxes, and withholding taxes
• Maintain compliance of relevant jurisdictional licenses and business registrations
• Ensure timely and efficient accounting, compliance, payment and forecasting of indirect taxes
• Keep pace with tax law changes and ensure current tax engine, OneSource, executes accordingly and timely
• Keep pace of any outages or errors in tax engine updates to prevent and manage any disruptions in tax collection and determination
• Keep pace with tax law changes to ensure compliance with reporting requirements for vendor payments
• Manage external advisors
• Maintain proper documentation and workflow calendars
• Align with current initiatives to help drive best practices and scalability for indirect tax processes, policies, and technology
• Assist with information request from other areas of tax and ad hoc requests

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, finance, economics or relevant field – CPA (or equivalent) strongly preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proven knowledge of tax rules, practice, and related research
• Experience working and analyzing high volume of data
• Ability and willingness to work deep into details
• Ability to explain complex tax matters and operational practices to non-tax stakeholders
• Experience working in software/technology industry, is a plus
• OneSource Indirect Tax Determination and Compliance or similar platform experience, is required
• NetSuite experience, is a plus
• Must be a self-starter with owner mentality to navigate in moments of ambiguity
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and multitask
• Must be professionally confident, yet humble and collaborative
