About the Role
iCapital is looking for an Assistant Vice President to join its Fund Finance team to focus on Private Capital Fund Accounting and Administration duties. This position is an addition to a growing Fund Accounting team. The role requires working closely with other team members, vendors, the management team, and clients on a variety of accounting and reporting processes.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting for the funds including:
- The monitoring of fund’s compliance with the partnership operating agreement terms
- Review of the preparation of annual fund financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and/or Luxembourg GAAP
- Oversight and coordination of the fund’s annual audit process including managing relationships with external auditors
This role is responsible for all aspects of fund controlling including:
- Work on accounting team to ensure that all quarterly valuations are completed in a timely manner, including cash flow management.
- Review and approve quarterly valuations of all Fund investments.
- Track and approve Fund expenses and accruals and maintain quarterly budgets, review withholding tax allocations
- Review and approve trial balances, investor allocations and investor capital account statements on quarterly basis
- Review and approve quarterly management fee & trailer calculations
- Review of third party administrator's preparation and coordination of investor capital calls and distributions including investor allocation calculations and call/distribution notices
- Liaise with underlying fund managers when required
- Handling ad hoc requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 8+ years of Financial services or Asset management Accounting and Operations experience. Alternative Investments Fund Administration and Operations is a plus
- Passion for the application of innovative technology
- Proven ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- High level of integrity
- Willingness to learn new topics and work in an evolving business environment
- Organized and detail oriented with big picture capability
