About the role

Angi is looking for a Senior Accountant to carry out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department. As a key member of our Accounting team, you will play an integral role in providing critical financial support that empowers our business leaders to make sound decisions. You will interface regularly with the executive team at Angi and help build and maintain financial reporting for our two new, fast-growing managed project verticals.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end process of revenue recognition and above-margin close for Angi's fixed price medium/high consideration tasks & real estate verticals (collectively, known as managed projects)
  • Liaise with business leads, product owners and data analytics as we build a project database, automate revenue reporting and system access controls
  • Ensure our accounting processes comply with GAAP, including over-time revenue recognition for in-process jobs
  • Perform and/or review other areas of monthly close including, but not limited to, prepaids, accruals and other assets 
  • Compile departmental budget versus actual analyses on a monthly basis for the managed projects verticals, including providing explanations for variances, to be presented to CEO, COO and other business owners 
  • Lead audit process walkthroughs & be audit’s first point of contact at Angi for questions on these verticals
  • Execute managed projects cash flow requests and maintain detailed tracking of payments & cash receipts
  • Contribute to accounting team’s continuous process improvement and always consider ways to make our jobs more efficient 

What we’re looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting (or related) field from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in accounting
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
  • Exceptional knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), especially as it relates to over-time revenue recognition
  • Experience in the construction industry and / or dealing with high-value construction-type projects a plus, but not required
  • Public accounting experience a plus, but not required
  • MS Excel experience required
  • No tolerance for financial sloppiness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to communicate effectively both inside and outside the finance / accounting department
  • Experience with Netsuite a plus, but not required
