About the Role

Custora is growing fast and we’re looking to build out our Finance and Accounting team.

As the first in-house accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of general ledger preparation, financial reporting and first-time audit preparation. You’ll partner with our Head of Finance on budget and forecasting jazz, lead projects that improve operating efficiency of the finance organization and collaborate with our leadership team to develop efficient, scalable, accounting and finance procedures.

What you’ll do:

• Manage full-cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable (invoicing, bill processing, collections, etc.)
• Run month-end close (preparing reconciliations, journal entries and related support for key accounts), issuing timely and complete financial statements
• Manage the monthly expense report process, ensuring submissions are timely, expenses are properly classified, and accounts are properly reconciled
• Assist with annual external audit (prep and testing) and completion of the company's various filing requirements
• Plan and support the build out of our internal accounting system and the accounting team
• Support budget and forecasting activities

What you have::

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or in process of CPA required
• 5+ years in Accounting role 
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, operational risk assessment, and financial reporting
• Advanced excel skills
• Private industry experience in technology and/or internet service companies (SAAS model experience or start-up preferred)
• Entrepreneurial mindset and keen attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage time-sensitive projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Ownership or strong knowledge and involvement in Month-end close 

Nice to haves:

• Experience at a Big 4 or another reputable accounting firm
• Experience with ERP systems and worked through a system transition or upgrade
• Experience with Salesforce and Expensify = whoa that’s awesome
