As a Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and be an integral part of the Finance Function. As the second Finance hire in the organization, you will have a critical role in scaling the Finance and Accounting function for a hyper-growth tech start-up. In addition to the core responsibilities of the month-end close, reconciliations, accounting policy maintenance, this role will also have exposure to strategic aspects of the business, including; system upgrades, fundraising, and financial planning.

Responsibilities:

Play a lead role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process including preparation of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and related analyses
Assist in managing the A/P process
Perform multiple subsidiary consolidations.
Assist in the implementation of NetSuite
Assist in evaluating the company's accounting policies and internal controls, and implementing improvements where possible
Create detailed documentation and narratives of all procedures, processes, and reconciliations
Maintain and update control matrices and related language
Maintain a thorough understanding of areas of responsibility in general ledger
Support the external review and audit of the company's financial statements on an annual basis
Research issues, clarify information, and prepare supporting data for accounting position papers
Special projects as required (i.e. assisting with ad hoc and financial analysis, systems upgrades, tax matters, process improvements, etc.)

Qualifications:

4-6 years accounting experience - public/private mix preferred
BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
CPA required
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Advanced excel skills and the ability to run reports, manipulate and present data in a user-friendly format
Experience with NetSuite a plus
E-Commerce or Software industry experience a plus
Has a positive approach to work and a no task too small attitude
