ROLE

The role will provide a 360 degree accounting experience including involvement in the financial statement close process, budget to actual analysis, US GAAP reporting, treasury management and much more. The role will play an integral part in building the financial foundation of the company. Initially the role will work with and report to the Controller. Are you an ambitious individual looking to be a key player in a dynamic and rapidly growing start-up? WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Assist in month-end close by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and developing processes and templates to account for all financial activity
• Prepare periodic financial statements for internal and external consumption as well as ad-hoc analyses (unit economics, gross margins, overhead, etc.)
• Partner with FP&A to track, analyze and report on actual performance as compared to budget
• Prepare and/or review direct cost allocations to multiple business units
• Continuously challenge current practices and as the business evolves, implementing operational and financial improvements in procedures, processes and systems
• Work with the Controller to develop department P&Ls, accruals and SG&A
• Assist in selection and implementation of new ERP system
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, CPA or on track to completing CPA
• 4+ years of experience, preferably with both public and private accounting experience
• Project management experience, specifically implementing process improvement initiatives
• Excellent written, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience and competency working with Excel
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment
