WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a hands-on, Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This individual will key person on the GL team to ensure the accurate and timely closing of the monthly books, assist with the annual audits and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Additionally, this individual will innovate and drive efficiencies through continual evaluation of our systems and business processes. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting and have exposure to the Director, Assistant Controller and the VP of Finance, Controller.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Play an essential role in the month-end and quarter-end close processes including preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting reconciliations
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- Maintain account balances including reconciling, researching and resolving all discrepancies
- Focus on balance sheet liability accounts, including but not limited to accrued expenses and deferred rent
- Perform monthly analytics to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements
- Work with the FP&A and Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate coding of expenses
- Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
- Assist with external audit requests, including preparation & review of schedules as assigned
- Aid in the optimization of existing platforms and the use of platform such as NetSuite
- Prepare documentation on financial processes and policies
WHO YOU ARE
- At least 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Proven knowledge and application of US GAAP, with a general understanding of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
- Highly organized and results-oriented and works with a sense of urgency
- Ability to meet strict deadlines; able to manage multiple priorities
- Highly self-motivated, detailed oriented, flexible team player that is able to operate independently
- Proven proficiency of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- General understanding of NetSuite, Workday or other comparable ERP systems is preferred
- Experience at a Big 4 or large regional firm a plus
- SaaS or Technology industry experience with subscription and professional service revenue a plus
- Certified Public Account or currently taking the exam is a plus
