Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships at Checkout.com
Checkout.com is seeking a talented Senior Manager of Financial Partnerships to join the adventure and support the business’s rapid growth and expansion.
Your main responsibility will be to identify and develop key account alliances and relationship programs designed to create fruitful commercial opportunities. Contribute to the development, management and overall strategy of retention and growth of our Card Scheme and various Partners in North America. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact at all levels externally (e.g. being the main business advisor for our partner) and internally (e.g. acting as an External Partnership Leader to make sure our acquiring function infrastructure is scaling as we grow quickly).
The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple areas of responsibilities autonomously, demonstrating excellent critical judgement with hands-on approach. What you will be doing
- Business Development:
- Support US expansion plans through new acquiring partnerships, creating new business opportunities and promoting Checkout.com brand.
- Proven track record of developing relationships with scheme partners, technical, and business teams.
- Has excellent understanding of how commercial arrangements and requirements differ across various acquiring models including Principal Acquiring, Third Party Acquiring, Payment Facilitator, Marketplaces, Processing, Gateway Services & Risk Services. Deep understanding of commercial terms typically offered for each role in the Acquiring Business model.
- Provide payments expertise to support local sales teams on strategic deals involving our card scheme and various partners.
- Experience with large, complex, and commercial relationships with the ability to create executive level relationships and influence decision making.
- Relationship Management:
- Manage and develop existing relationships with US partners. Experienced negotiator able to deliver competitive commercial terms based on value, volume, and differentiation of services offered to merchants.
- Negotiate and prioritize with Product and Commercial Leads to formally identify minimum viable payment product in market (MVP) and accountable for Financial Partnership delivery of MVP offering in line with periodic product roadmap/planning exercises.
- Act as point of escalation for Financial Partners when readiness or service level for Financial partner strategic merchants may be poor or deficient.
- Accountable for ensuring payment product parity in market driven by financial partnerships. Consistently works with CKO stakeholders to maintain payment parity including scheme partner enablement, innovation or product rollout.
- Operations Management
- Provides effective commercial procedures or initiating change to ensure key operational commercial and financial targets are delivered.
- Work closely with our acquiring partners on a day-to-day basis to resolve operational issues that affect our merchant base.
- Influences and liaises with commercial and product teams to drive payment growth in line with scheme /financial partner strategic agreements, incentives, and compliance parameters. Understands and contributes to the application of the Comprehensive Credit Risk Framework in region in collaboration with Risk and Scheme Compliance teams.
- Acts as point of escalation building partnerships both internally and externally to maintain strong relationships. Collaborate with Product and Tech teams to ensure ongoing platform readiness.
