Senior Payroll Specialist
THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team! Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager, the Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for over 7500 US employees. This role will work closely with People Team, Benefits, Compensation and Equity on payroll-related matters as well as interact closely with the accounting. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll related transactions for over 7,500 US employees in compliance with the company policies and all federal, state and local laws and regulations
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of US Stock and Equity transactions
- Manage monthly and quarterly wage reconciliations and tax filing requirements including year-end reporting, W-2C’s and amendments
- Perform complex analysis of payroll issues and determine root cause and implement reasonable solutions
- Complete post payroll audits and reporting, prepare metrics and track errors using technology and reporting tools
- Follow payroll procedures and adhere to payroll policies. Interprets and evaluates policies and procedures and suggests changes for improving the responsiveness, efficiency and accuracy of the department
- Provide timely customer service to employees and ensure all payroll errors are handled completely, effectively, timely, and professionally
- Assist payroll leadership team with special projects as assigned
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local tax and wage & hour laws, regulations or guidelines, including payroll tax registrations
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls. Facilitate and perform regular payroll audits and assist in preparing supporting schedules for external auditors
- Assist with financial reconciliation inquiries and requests in relation to payroll
- Manage state agency correspondence and compliance documentation requests
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 7 years of multi-state payroll experience is required
- Thorough understanding of current payroll tax laws and regulations, including multi-states, local, and federal tax law required
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, high growth environment with excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new things
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities; effective verbal and written communication skills
- A customer service, teamwork, accuracy, and strong attention to detail mindset is required
- Proficient in Ceridian, ADP WFN & Success Factors
