Success: 

  • Support the revenue accounting operations & revenue close process
  • Actively involved in the monthly close process including preparation of reports and analysis, and reviewing various journal entries of staff and shared service center team members
  • Positive, driven and accurate self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic environment
  • Actively involved in the monthly close process including preparation of reports and analysis, and reviewing various journal entries of staff and shared service center team members
  • Identify opportunities for outsourcing and work on automation projects to improve the speed and efficiency of the monthly revenue close

Good Execution - Do your best work 

  • Execution of monthly revenue close, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform account reconciliations and journals for revenue, deferred revenue and receivables. Prepare account analytics and narratives to describe business trends. 
  • Help lead the implementation of best practices on the revenue team to scale our business and new revenue streams
  • Support external and internal audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility and help develop/refine revenue accounting processes and procedures

Good Owner - Be the CEO of your role 

  • Monitor revenue on a daily basis and have a deep understanding of what causes variances in the business. 
  • Work cross functionally with Technical accounting, Finance, Legal, Sales, Sales Operations, FP&A, Billing, AR, IT, Tax and various business owners on policies, processes and programs, and help drive key system initiatives and improvements
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies and assist in refining revenue accounting processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvements and efficiency
  • Other responsibilities include but not limited to participate in special projects, ERP implementation, system enhancements or ad hoc analyses as assigned

Desired experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years related revenue accounting experience preferably in high tech or digital subscriptions
  • Experience working in a start-up environment strongly preferred
  • Public accounting experience and CPA a plus
  • Experience with major ERP system (Workday, Netsuite, Oracle or SAP)
  • Strong Excel skills, and be comfortable with extremely large data volume
  • Able to work under time pressure, able to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude and flexible, especially in the period of month/quarter/year-end closing
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
