The Role:

The Senior Revenue Accounting Manager will take our revenue recognition processes to the next level (post ASC 606 adoption) and will develop scalable accounting operations for month end close activities. You will be responsible for owning end-to-end revenue close processes (including AR, deferred revenue, reserves and adjustments), collaborating with internal and external business partners, performing periodic and ad-hoc revenue reporting and analysis, and ensuring operation of key internal controls. In this role, you will also participate in special projects when revenue recognition expertise is needed, providing both technical and/or operational knowledge.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

Reporting directly to our Controller, you will have the opportunity to own critical and highly visible revenue processes, building the foundation to scale and improve the quality of the close process and internal controls. You’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with our growing Finance team, as well as cross-functionally with leadership on our Sales, Marketing, Product, and People teams. Your work will help enable quality reporting and accounting operations that support the super-charged growth of our business. Ultimately, this growth will broaden our product’s reach and bring engaging, culturally responsive learning content to K-12 teachers and students nationwide.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 5+ years of revenue accounting experience, with 1-2 years of hands-on experience with ASC 606, revenue reviews, Netsuite billing and ARM, and managing others to ensure transactional processing is accurate and complete. You are well-versed in revenue contracts review, documentation of revenue checklists, and providing support for financial statement audits. While not required, experience using Salesforce is a plus. You’re excited to leverage your ability to identify and prioritize issues that impact revenue reporting, investigate, evaluate and come up with alternate solutions, present pros/cons to management for decision and help to execute through to the resolution. A self-starter, you’re passionate about applying your expertise to a start-up where you can help to build and develop processes from scratch, and ultimately strengthen the financial reporting and controls of our fast-growing company with a mission to transform the K-12 education industry.
