The Role:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate, reliable, and timely monthly financial reporting. You’ll be part of the team helping scale our accounting operations (processes and systems) as Newsela grows. You’ll be a key player in helping us prepare and review month end sub-ledgers and roll forwards, and reconciliations. You’ll also assist with system implementations, financial statements audits/ internal controls, and managing tax compliance.

Why We’ll Love You:

You are an uber-accountant with strong technical accounting, audit, and internal controls skills, ideally with Big 4 and/or public company experience. You have a strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls, and have experience working with NetSuite. You have a CPA designation, or are actively working towards one. You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, are very organized and detail oriented, thrive on process improvement, and enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment to support our continued growth. You are not satisfied with “good enough,” and are able to see the trees as well as the forest.
