About The Role:

MANTL is looking for a motivated senior accountant to help scale the Finance and Accounting function and support our rapidly growing company. This role will be an integral part of designing, implementing and improving upon all facets of the Finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join early and help build the accounting function from the ground up. 

You will own critical accounting sections such as revenue recognition, commissions and capitalization. You will improve and expedite the accounting close process, manage processes from beginning to end and assist in implementing new systems and tools.

You should have an accounting background, strong grasp of GAAP, robust understanding of a company’s financials and interest in accounting systems and integrations. An exceptional applicant would be able to blend their knowledge of accounting and the desire to build a business for the years to come.

This position will be an essential part of the Finance Team within MANTL.

What You'll Do:

• Translate contracts with customers into revenue schedules that are ASC 606 compliant
• Draft, implement and manage accounting memos and policies that will scale with the company
• Manage journal entries, reconciliations and enhance month-close processes
• Create, maintain, and operationalize policies, procedures, and controls across operational and financial accounting systems and subledgers
• Maintain strong customer and internal relationships

• Support external audit activities and other compliance requirements
• Assist in implementation of systems, tools, and infrastructure with a focus towards automation

• Assist with ad-hoc projects with internal and external stakeholders, as needed

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Understanding of full cycle accounting processes around revenue and when to recognize revenue
• You embrace growth and find ways to add value to everything you touch
• You enjoy collaborating with stakeholders at all levels and in every department
• Opportunities to deliver solutions and communicating them to decision makers to drive organizational change excites you; proactive communication is a must
• The ability to take ownership over your work and manage projects independently
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

Nice to Haves:

• You know your way around venture funded financial statements and what drives each line item
• Knowledge of Quickbooks Online, Airbase, Ramp, Ordway and other accounting softwares
• Interest in Fintech and trends affecting the space
• Exceptional Excel skills
• Mix of public and private accounting experience
