Job Description

Are you a finance person who has experience supporting Technology divisions? MSK is recruiting for a Senior Director of IT Finance. We are looking for someone who is accountable for leading the preparation and dissemination of the DigIT's annual run budgets, development of the initiative budgets, and preparation of the Departmental IT budgets covering a total spend of close to $600m (inclusive of both capital and operating spend). In addition, you will be the program manager of the IT Procurement team, DigITs resource reporting of FTEs, contingent workers, and other required reporting.

 

Your role will be essential in developing and implementing programs that drive organizational objectives of ensuring fiscal responsibility, transparency, and operational excellence. You will work with executive leaders on the DigITs team, include the Chief Digital Officer, the DigITs Core Leadership Team, DigITs Leaders, financial managers, as well as with senior leaders within Finance, Hospital Leadership, and the other parts of the MSK enterprise.

 

Core focus of this role is on both strategic planning, management, as well as execution of the activities. This role will report to the Chief of Staff, DigITs; has direct reports; and is a highly visible opportunity.

You will!

  • Directs and control the activities of the IT Finance and IT Procurement teams.
  • Prepare, review, and approves budgets including schedules, risks, and losses.
  • Make decisions on administrative and operational matters to ensure effective achievement of objectives.
  • Develop and implement IT finance policies across the organization.
  • Take calculated risks with consultation from senior management.
  • Control planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and approving changes to methods and practices.
  • Establish outcome driven goals and objectives for the team as well as individual contributors.
  • Provide ongoing honest and transparent feedback to staff on performance strengths and areas in need of improvement; recognize accomplishments, improvements in performance and innovative ideas.
  • Oversees work assignments ensuring that routine and project related activities are accurately prioritized and appropriately delegated to staff members.

You are!

  • Experienced in progressive financial and analytical experience, with a proven track record of ability to be a people leader.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university and proficient solid understanding of accounting principles. MBA individuals will be given priority.
  • You must have worked in a technology organization and have managed finances.
  • Innovative and driven self-starter who can proactively self-manage multiple projects and balance getting the details right while moving swiftly. Must be adaptive.
  • Proactive in your approach and mentality with excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Not afraid to roll-up your sleeves as well as manage from afar.
  • Able to coach and mentor the team to upskill and uptrain.
  • Strong business acumen, aptitude and business savvy; ability to recognize business trends, proactively identify potential future challenges, and recommend / execute actions to address.
  • Possesses attention to detail and a dedication to quality accurate output.
