Your team:The Underwriting team consists of the Buyer Underwriting, Valuations, and Inspections teams. Your teams enable homeownership by underwriting buyers and homes to ensure that Ribbon can help buyers purchase these homes, while managing to Ribbon’s business risk and compliance with our capital partners.The Underwriting team is part of the Real Estate Operations team, which helps live out Ribbon’s mission of making homeownership achievable every day by enabling families to compete on a level playing field to buy the home they love. You'll work on a fast-paced, tenacious team with teammates who thrive as a unit and help make a difference in people's lives each day.  
How you'll help make homeownership achievable:

• Lead and manage our team of Buyer Underwriters, Valuations Specialists and Inspections specialists to provide world-class customer experience, full compliance, and well-managed risk levers
• Hire to scale our underwriting teams as Ribbon scales our operations quickly
• Help define underwriting strategy across underwriting buyers and homes
• Build systems through purchasing 3rd party software or working with our engineering team to make your teams more effective.
• Build processes to ensure that our underwriting strategy is executed compliantly, consistently and at the highly quality level of customer experience.
• Support our product, finance, and go-to-market teams we roll out new products and experience with underwriting components
• You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional partners, like our Finance, Sales, Real Estate Operations, and Product & Engineering teams.

What we're looking for:

• 7+ years of experience in operations in a technology or financial services company
• 3+ years of experience managing an operations team and process with risk implications
• Experience managing teams of more than 10 people and managing through team leads and managers
• Experience hiring and scaling teams quickly
• Demonstrated ability to learn new, complex domains and products very quickly
• Clear communication abilities both within your team and cross-functionally

Bonus Points:

• Hyper-growth start-up experience
• Real estate, financial technology, or similar finance/asset related operations experience
• Managing different types of operations teams (e.g. borrowering underwriting and asset underwriting)
