The Opportunity
The Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing and completing crucial Corporate Finance and Strategy initiatives at TheGuarantors, a fast-growing InsurTech startup. Your responsibilities include recording and analyzing data, managing payment systems, compiling financial reports and supporting financial close procedures. This position reports to the Director of Finance & Strategy.
You'll have an entrepreneurial spirit, work independently and, because we're rapidly evolving, be enthusiastic about taking on tasks outside of your job description. Ideally, you're a pro at assessing processes and making them more efficient. You should also be able to distill your thoughts into engaging presentations to key stakeholders such as company executives and investors.
What You'll Do Day-to-Day
- Assist in maintaining books and records in the financial reporting database
- Prepare monthly reconciliation and account close reports
- Assist with preparation of periodic financial statements
- Manage aspects of Company’s treasury (AR/AP)Work with the company's product teams to streamline financial processes
- Perform key operational finance tasks for various product teams
Why We'll Love You
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or other business‐related major
- 0-2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or management consulting role
- Technical accounting knowledge and expertise
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel or comparable program
Bonus Points
- Experience with Quickbooks Online preferred but not required
