Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the month end financial close process and ensuring it is completed timely and accurately. Must have strong analytical skills and ensure that our financial processes and procedures are followed.
What You Are Accountable For
As a member of the Finance department, the Staff Accountant is responsible for:
Back up to the accounts payable function including
Timely processing of invoices and payments to vendors
Expense report auditing ensuring compliance with the Travel and Expense policy
Maintaining accurate records of all vendor accounts
Weekly AR & AP reports
Follow up as needed with Prove’s clients on past due payments
Reconciliation of subledger systems and accounts to the general ledger
Reconciliation of various general accounts including bank accounts, credit card statements and prepaid expenses
Process improvement recommendations
Payroll processing
Month end billing
Month end close process including journal entries and ensuring items are coded to proper departments and accounts
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Controller
Education & Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting function
2 years’ experience with accounts payable
Bachelor’s degree
