What is the opportunity?

We have exciting plans to change the future of healthcare, and we’ll need to build out an effective accounting team to support that mission.

This candidate will be the first Staff Accountant for Thirty Madison and will work closely with our outsourced accounting team. The ideal person will be resourceful, results-focused, hyper-analytical with a keen attention to detail and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. We look for teammates who are curious, kind, empathetic, and proactive, who will challenge us at every turn. This role reports to our Controller.

In this role, you will:

  • Review financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance
  • Be responsible for all aspects of our AP and expense systems, credit card accounts and headcount reporting
  • Partner with all members of the business unit teams and outsourced accountants to ensure proper recording and reporting of financial information
  • Lead the reconciliation of company product and packaging inventory
  • Prepare communications for periodic bank and investor reporting
  • Develop and maintain account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
  • Play a key role in the company audits and tax preparation
  • Assist in documenting policies and procedures for all areas of the accounting function

You’ll be successful in this role if you have:

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a complex or high growth environment, at a company with multiple internal P&Ls
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees, management and external agencies
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to communicate outcomes and recommendations effectively and concisely
  • Proficiency in Excel and Quickbooks, NetSuite a plus
  • Strong organization and time management skills with a “no task is too small” attitude
  • The temperament to succeed in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • A passion for the Thirty Madison mission of expanding access to healthcare

Bonus points if you have:

  • Subscription business model experience
  • D2C eCommerce experience
  • Healthcare industry experience
How we are managing through the COVID pandemic and its impact on our team?

These are unprecedented times and we understand COVID-19 is impacting everyone differently. Our primary goal from the beginning of the pandemic has been to ensure employee safety. We went from optional to mandatory work-from-home very quickly in early March, and we have told employees that they can work remotely through July 2021 to allow them to plan accordingly. 

We have also rolled out several initiatives to help our team successfully navigate the uncertainty associated with COVID-19. These initiatives have included providing funds for home office improvements, medical reimbursements, free meditation/mindfulness tools, mandatory “Me Days” away from work, company-wide Refresh days off, and fun opportunities to connect live with teammates each week (such as virtual escape rooms). We continue to examine different benefits, tools, and processes that best support our employees as we continue to work remotely and eventually begin transitioning back to the office.
