Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the month end financial close process and ensuring it is completed timely and accurately. Must have strong analytical skills and ensure that our financial processes and procedures are followed. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing company.
What You Are Accountable For
- Reconciliation of subledger systems and accounts to the general ledger
- Reconciliation of various general accounts including bank accounts, credit card statements, prepaid, accrued expenses and intercompany accounts
- Assist with the annual audit process
- Maintenance of Avalara so that our sales tax returns are filed timely
- Work with our outsource accounting representatives to ensure payroll and taxes are timely filed
- Experience with closing the books in foreign jurisdictions and knowledge of FX translation accounting
- Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Process improvement recommendations
- Month end close process including journal entries and ensuring items are coded to proper departments and accounts
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Controller
What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2-3 years of experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, lookup functions, sum if formulas) in order to analyze and reconcile large sets of data
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Confidentiality and integrity
- Intacct experience a plus
