Strategic Finance & Analytics Manager

The Strategic Finance and Analytics Manager role is perfect for a versatile, driven individual with high intellectual horsepower, exceptional quantitative skills, keen attention to detail, and well-honed business judgment.

Perhaps you’re a top-tier consultant, banker, or PE investor looking to find the right role at a startup.  Or maybe you’ve established your skills at a high-growth startup and now seek to make a bigger impact.

In this role, you will be responsible for working through complex questions in areas like customer acquisition, LTV & margin optimization, new market selection & launch, and future fundraising, among others.

Along the way, you will gain extensive exposure to early stage company-building and various functions within a fast-growing startup. For any prospective entrepreneur or leader, this is a truly unique opportunity to play a key role at an early-stage, high-growth company with a deeply experienced team and uncommon resources for its stage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own, improve, and enhance financial and operational models
  • Develop board-level and company-wide presentations & memos
  • Provide significant support to our monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning, analysis, and budgeting processes
  • Play a key role in managing the company’s capital structure, including planning for future debt and equity financing rounds
  • Work cross functionally with our business leaders to ensure they have the data and insights needed to make data informed decisions
  • Partner with our tech team to implement our analytical stack (centralized data warehouse and Looker) with the goal of creating effective and actionable business dashboards to elevate everyone from field operators to the executive team
  • Manage and execute entire projects from start to finish - owning project management, data gathering and manipulation, problem solving and communicating recommendations to key stakeholders

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two to four years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, private equity fund, or technology company
  • BA/BS degree from a top institution; MBA or bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting or Data Analysis is a plus
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel (aka an Excel ninja), including financial modeling & analysis
  • At least one year of experience in a finance or business operations role at a high-growth company is a plus
  • Experience with data analysis tools, SQL and/or LookML; in its absence, eagerness to learn is a must

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Strong analytical background, including the ability to break down and work through complex problems in a structured manner, using both quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Ability to tell a persuasive story and convey information in a digestible format, including experience developing board-level presentations and memos self-sufficiently
  • Enthusiastic teamwork and collaboration
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects
  • Actively and constantly learn on your own - we love to teach, but you’re also expected to figure out solutions and ask for help proactively
