What We're Looking for:
We are building a technology-powered residential and hospitality brand start-up backed by top VCs. We have properties in many markets across the country and growing fast. We are now looking to add a Tax & Compliance Manager to our growing Finance team. This is the first such role for the company and will have the opportunity to build and shape the financial processes for a scaling company.
An entrepreneurial spirit is critical for this role. The right candidate must be willing to get their hands dirty and be comfortable with changing priorities. You may not always know the answer immediately, but you know how to figure it out. As we scale, this position will play a vital role in onboarding the new markets Domio enters. Daily responsibilities will involve managing all company tax filing responsibilities and building the proper processes to handle these scaling requirements in an efficient manner.

At Domio You Will:

  • Manage all company tax filing responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations, specifically as they relate to the hospitality industry
  • Review all relevant tax requirements and prepare analyses for Domio’s real estate, finance, revenue management, and legal teams
  • Develop procedures for handling new tax requirements as they arise
  • Develop and implement effective control procedures over Domio’s tax processes
  • Implement process or system for monthly sales and occupancy tax filings
  • Work closely with Domio’s finance team in support of month-end close and financial audit
  • Assist in building out financial processes that scale for Domio’s growing business
  • Stay abreast of new and proposed tax requirements in the short-term rental and hotel sectors
  • Identify opportunities for tax credits or savings
  • Flag any potential financial fraud
  • Support management with special projects and ad-hoc requests
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and third parties, as necessary

Who You Are:

  • 3+ years professional experience (CPA preferred)
  • Bachelors’ degree (accounting or tax preferred)
  • Real estate experience in the commercial real estate and/or hospitality environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Highly organized, adaptive, comfortable in fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in ERP and other financial systems
