How Does This Position Help VTS Succeed?

We are looking for a resourceful and motivated tax director to join our fast growing finance and accounting team. This position will report into the Corporate Controller as we navigate maturing our global business and implementing thoughtful tax strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in both domestic and international tax, state and local tax issues, M&A transactions, and high growth companies. The candidate needs to partner with finance, accounting, legal, the business, and third party service providers.

What Makes This Job Awesome?

• You will serve as a key member of the finance team and assist in developing and implementing a robust tax function and processes
• Review annual corporate income tax returns provided by our tax preparers
• Own the quarterly / annual tax provision, related tax journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with preparation of our US GAAP financial statements
• Own the documentation and internal controls
• Coordinate quarterly and annual provision review with external auditors and other key stakeholders
• Develop a comprehensive list of required tax filings and review all tax compliance prepared by the Company’s third-party tax providers
• Review and ensure submission of monthly sales tax returns
• Manage special projects such as R&D tax credit studies, transfer pricing studies, sales tax nexus studies…etc.
• Monitor business activates for tax related implications; Identify and execute opportunities for process improvements and efficient use of resources within the organization as they affect tax planning and structuring. 
• Work cross functionally on a variety of tasks inclusive of M&A, entity expansion, strategic transactions and other initiatives. Build and strengthen the relationships with other individuals and groups within the Company to ensure the Tax Department is effectively serving our business.
• Manage renewal and application of business licenses, leasing licenses, and Corporate registrations with respective secretary of state offices.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting. Master’s Degree in Business Taxation preferred
• JD and/or CPA preferred
• Ten+ years of related experience with at least 5 years in a public accounting firm
• Significant experience managing tax professionals
• Experience with ERP systems
• Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment
• International tax experience
