Technical Revenue Accounting Manager

WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
We are looking for a high energy, self-motivated, hands-on individual to join our growing Technical Accounting and External Reporting team. An ideal candidate excels in external reporting responsibilities, technical research, verbal and written communication, and is a problem solver with the ability to translate complex accounting matters into concise business solutions. You will continually looking for ways to help our team get better at what we do in the most efficient way possible.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Partner with Legal, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, and Sales Reps and serve as the focal point on strategic contract structuring and revenue recognition
- Review revenue contracts to ensure revenue recognition compliance
- Perform technical research on revenue recognition and/or other complex accounting issues, and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under US GAAP
- Draft and maintain revenue recognition policy and/or other accounting policies and memos
- Review the standalone selling price analysis, and relative selling price application on contracts
- Assist in providing revenue recognition training sessions and keep business partners abreast of developments in accounting and financial reporting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly close processes and supporting operational teams with US GAAP matters as the subject matter expert, including other ad hoc projects as needed
WHO YOU ARE
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- CPA
- 4-6 years of relevant experience from public accounting and/or public multinational high-tech companies
- Experience with RevPro/RevStream and NetSuite
- Excellent understanding of GAAP accounting principles with a strong knowledge in revenue recognition principles and SEC reporting regulations
- Ability to work with senior management and influence decision makingExcellent project management, oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, analytical, organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement
- Passion for cloud technologies
