After a few years of bootstrapping and product development, we’re now aggressively scaling, have recently closed a $100m-series A, and are looking for a passionate, experienced leader with the strategic and operational skills to build out a world-class Finance organization, in order to better support our users and growth over the coming years.


We view the Finance aspect of our business as a key value driver, as it enables the team to focus on building the best product and providing the best service. We believe in aggressive automation and systematization of processes to scale better. As our VP Finance, you will be a part of the leadership team and help us build the structure to scale quickly. You will own the finance function, both at a strategic level and at the execution level, and will report directly to the Co-CEO & Founder.


A successful hire will create the following outcomes in their first year:

  • Ensure we have a good understanding of our financial metrics to drive business decisions
  • Develop a forecasting model that helps us understand the implications of our growth and spending over the months and manage our runway
  • Ensure our books are closed in compliance with accounting standards and that the company goes through our yearly audit seamlessly
  • Build systems to efficiently pay providers and collect payments when not done though automated credit card charges
  • Help the team control cost and keep its lean culture
  • Has set up treasury management to efficiently manage cash on hands


Specific responsibilities include

  • In general, own the finance function and build out the structure, systems and team
  • Improve and iterate on our budgeting model to better model our growth; work with leadership and team leads to define the budget of our different teams
  • Develop a deep understanding of the key drivers behind our financial performance and be able present it to the leadership meeting and the board
  • Keep an eye on the companies cost and ensure each team is operating under budget
  • Oversea our bookkeeping/accounting function (either through external contractors or internal resources). In the middle term, recruit and build over time a world-class finance team with A/R, A/P, cost accounting direct reports
  • Ensure our yearly auditing process goes smoothly
  • Help run scenarios and projections as we tackle new initiatives
  • Ensure Bubble is compliant with the different jurisdictions it serves users and has tax obligations (for instance, sales tax)
  • Build out scalable systems and ensure our financial stack is efficient and reliable  
  • Make sure the whole organization’s reporting capabilities are in-line with our investors’ expectations and as automated as possible
  • Negotiate with vendors and explore alternatives to improve our operating margins; in the middle term, build out systems to ensure we’re cost-efficient at scale.
  • Help us manage cash, reduce cost of capital and assist with fundraising efforts


You are a great candidate if you have or are

  • Exceptional organization skills and work ethics
  • Very strong quantitative abilities to analyze data and make decisions
  • Demonstrated project management and timeline management skills
  • Strong financial/analytical background (ideally through few years in investment management/banking/consulting) + experience at a fast-growing scaling SaaS startup
  • Experience managing a few direct reports (2 minimum) as a team will need to be built
  • Very strong ownership and willingness to get hands dirty when needed
  • Passionate about scaling and automation
  • Knowledge of technical tooling (APIs) are a strong plus (if no knowledge, willingness to learn quickly)
