About Finance and Accounting at Vericred

Vericred is seeking a VP of Finance to consolidate and own Vericred’s accounting and finance functions. This is a hands-on position where you will be tasked with managing and evolving existing financial processes, including all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, budgeting and financial reporting. You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and vendors to successfully manage financial operations with the goals of timeliness, transparency and accountability.

This role is based out of our NYC Headquarters and reports to the CEO.

In this role you will

  • Lead all aspects of accounting and finance functions, overseeing and in some cases executing, all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial results with respect to revenue, profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management and the Board.
  • When requested, attend Board of Director meetings to report out Budget and Financial results. Respond to Board queries in conjunction with senior management.
  • Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
  • Develop and coordinate all relationships with lending/financial institutions.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. 
  • Lead senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
  • Coordinate, prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Liaise with external auditors.
  • Manage relationships with insurance providers and ensure compliance.
  • Manage all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes.
  • In coordination with senior leadership, manage cash flow.
  • Implement appropriate resources, systems and controls to support growth.
  • Interact with venture capital partners and board of directors as needed.
  • Other finance and administrative duties as required.

We’d love to hear from you if

  • You have 7-10+ years of increasing accounting and financial management responsibility and experience with a public accounting firm or in the private sector.
  • You possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. Masters is preferred.
  • Your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Experience with early stage companies and/or multi-sided platform business models a plus.
  • You thrive in an autonomous, multi-tasking, fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
