How Will You Make an Impact in this Role:
This position reports to the Director, Finance Technology Strategy & Program Management and plays a key role on the team evolving and implementing the Finance Technology strategy and overseeing the Finance Modernization effort. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to drive delivery of pan-Finance Technology projects, including Fast Forward, as American Express migrates from a Category IV to Category II regulated Financial Institution, partnering with Technology, Product and Process Owners to deliver our key priorities.
Job Responsibilities
- Become a responsive and productive participant in a complex and important, multi-year, Finance and Technology regulatory initiative.
- Build a comprehensive understanding of our multi-year Finance Modernization as critical context for our efforts.
- Focus on emerging Capital Reporting, Basel III Endgame and SCCL reporting requirements under Project Fast Forward as a critical priority for delivery.
- Work with data-sourcing teams, (e.g. FALCON, FODL and R2CE), to conduct data profiling and mapping activities.
- Assist in creation of detailed data sourcing plans to address new reporting requirements.
- Produce program management documents tracking progress against detailed milestones, including extensive integration and end-user testing activities.
- Prepare status updates for stakeholders and Program Office.
- Ensure stakeholder requirements are documented, and Technology story points are gathered and groomed to ensure timely and efficient Agile delivery.
- Cultivate constructive working relationships with Finance and Technology stakeholders relevant to the Capital, Basel III and SCCL workstreams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of cumulative Finance process and/or product management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Data Management.
- Demonstrated problem solving orientation, creating order out of complexity.
- Knowledge of American Express (or large financial institution) Finance systems, operational processes, and interdependencies.
- Collaborative approach and relationship building skills.
- Flexibility and ability to revise workplans adaptably to meet changing circumstances.
- Poise and diplomacy working under tight timeframes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge or experience with FALCON, FODL, or Regulatory Reporting applications.
- Experience with detailed data sourcing and applying Data Management principles.
- Some knowledge of SQL is highly preferred and/or relational database concepts.
- Understanding of Agile methodology and delivery concepts is highly preferred.

Qualifications
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
