Perplexity is looking for an experienced product-focused Frontend Engineer to join our small team revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be responsible for building the interface that powers the future of curiosity.
We use TypeScript, React, Tailwind CSS, and Next.JS on the frontend. The ideal candidate should be familiar with these technologies at scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop new user interfaces for Perplexity's evolving technologies & products
- Work with and improve the components that form the foundation of Perplexity's frontend
- Iterate closely with design to prototype, implement, and polish new features & enhancements
- Optimize streaming, rendering, and interaction performance
- Create accessible elements and user experiences
Qualifications
- Experience with designing & shipping user-facing features in web applications
- Understands state abstractions in large-scale codebases
- Familiar with the quirks and qualities of CSS
- Knowledgeable about design patterns & common user-experience flows
- Passion for prototyping and creating accessible experiences
- Can take ownership and work with a small, agile team
- Takes pride in getting the details right and operates from empathy
- 4+ years of industry experience
- Can reference of prior work in shipped web applications
The cash compensation range for this role is $180,000 - $240,000.
Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above
