About this Opportunity
Are you a hands-on engineer ready to develop the physical foundation of 5G technology? The TRX (Transceiver) team invites you to join us as a Hardware Designer, where you will focus on developing innovative hardware solutions that power our global connectivity. You will join a collaborative team that values mentorship and teamwork, supporting each other to solve technical challenges and deliver reliable products that meet rigorous customer requirements.
As part of our continuous improvement mindset, we also explore and adopt modern tools including use of AI-assisted design, simulation, and test automation to streamline workflows and enhance quality.
We are looking for adaptable individuals who enjoy learning new tools and solving complex design challenges to join us as a Hardware Designer.
What You Will Do

• Hardware Design & Development Engage directly in the development of robust hardware portfolios. You will perform basic circuit design, utilize schematic and layout tools, and contribute to innovative hardware solutions that align with Ericsson's Product Development Principles.
• Measurement & Verification Address design and testing needs by performing hands-on measurement, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware components. You will be responsible for validating designs and identifying issues early to ensure product reliability.
• Collaboration & Documentation Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by creating clear documentation and collaborating with diverse teams. You will support ongoing projects and contribute to the team's goal of delivering high-quality products while growing your own technical skills through mentorship.

Join our Team
The skills you will bring

• A B.Sc or M.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Key skills in basic circuit design and familiarity with schematic/layout tools.
• Hands-on experience with measurement and testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
• Familiarity with radio transmitter and receiver architecture and understanding of its building blocks(amplifiers, filters, switches, DAC/ADC and LNA)
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to solve design challenges.
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to work in a diverse, collaborative team.
• A genuine curiosity and interest in artificial intelligence and its applications in hardware engineering.

Preferred Qualifications
These aren't required, but they'll help you ramp up faster:

• Knowledge of wireless standards (LTE, NR, FCC, 3GPP etc.)
• Exposure to automation frameworks
• Experience of simulation tools such as ADS, AWR and HFSS
• Previous experience in coaching or mentoring peers.

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is: $85,000 - $111,300
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson's Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee's contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee's contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
