As the Head of Corporate Strategy & Business Development, you will play a crucial role in driving Guild's strategic vision, expanding partnerships, and identifying growth opportunities. As Head of Corporate Strategy & Business Development, you will:

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance Guild’s value proposition and market presence.
  • Oversee business and corporate development initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic investments to drive growth and expand Guild's market reach.
  • Lead process and frameworks for updating and executing Guild's corporate strategy, aligning organizational goals with market opportunities and long-term growth objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment and integration of strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and industry dynamics to provide insights and recommendations that inform Guild's strategic direction and business decisions.
  • Represent Guild at industry events, conferences, and in media as a thought leader in the education and workforce development space.
  • Be energized by leading a small and scrappy team who take pride in delivering high quality work under constraints.

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

Required Competencies

  • Proven experience leading robust and lean corporate strategy, strategic partnerships, and business development roles, ideally within the education, technology, or workforce development sectors.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable insights and plans.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams with diverse and phenomenal talent
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, especially C-level executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities and delivering on strategic goals.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, deal structuring, and integration.

Preferred Competencies

  • Familiarity with the education technology landscape and trends in corporate learning and workforce development.
  • Background in strategy consulting, investing, general manager or similar roles, with a skillset focused on strategy and business development.

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $240,000 - $330,000, as well as variable compensation and company stock options.
