Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Financial Services to lead our financial services operations and strategy. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company's financial services division and driving growth through best-in-class client management and delivery.
Moreover, we’re looking for a partner that wants to build a company from the ground up, and help us fulfill our mission of providing systems and services that raise the bar for what is expected from a company’s finance department.

We are a fintech startup backed by top-tier VCs. We are building the next-generation of AI powered systems and services to support startup financial management. This means that as a team, we are creating from scratch the systems and services that will power the finance department, and we need your creativity and problem-solving skills to create the best solutions in the market.
Our clients are startups, high-growth tech companies, and small-to-medium sized businesses based in the United States. We already have our first several customers and have built a strong pipeline that we need your help activating.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all customer accounts: Ensure the successful delivery of services including bookkeeping, reporting & analysis, budget & forecast, tax & compliance, and miscellaneous financial services.
- Lead the Financial Services division: Initially handle tasks independently, and subsequently hire, build and mentor a high-performing financial services team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Manage & elevate client relationships: Drive business development efforts, including successful onboarding, retention and expansion through effective relationship-building initiatives.
- Champion financial expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in accounting, finance, and taxation, providing thought leadership and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in defining & executing our roadmap: Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement, driving continuous enhancement of our service offerings and value proposition.
Essential Qualifications
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar finance and business-oriented certifications
- 10+ years in venture-backed technology startups (Series A - D+), or outsourced CFO services
- Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and practices, particularly as they relate to startups
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate and address clients’ financial challenges proactively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with a passion for driving innovation and delivering results
- Expertise in Excel, QuickBooks, and all other relevant software
- Technologically capable and intuitive enough to quickly learn any new SaaS tool

- Ability to translate complex financial topics into actionable product and delivery strategies
- Highly tech-savvy, familiar with workflow automation, AI tools, and a techno-optimist perspective
- Understanding, familiarity, or strong curiosity of AI and large language models (LLMs)
