ABOUT THE TEAM AND ROLE
The People Team at theSkimm works together to attract, engage, hire and retain top talent to help us grow and scale the organization. As an Associate Recruiter at theSkimm, you'll contribute to theSkimm's hiring needs and evangelize theSkimm's mission and core values internally and externally. You'll provide best-in-class support to candidates and hiring teams alike and will also own full-cycle recruiting for various opportunities on the team. This role reports in our Senior Manager, Recruiting.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Work closely with hiring teams to understand current hiring needs and priorities
  • Partner with business leads to build interview plans and set shared expectations for hiring processes
  • Identify and target passive candidates for current and future hiring needs across the organization in a proactive manner
  • Review and evaluate applicant profiles, pushing forward qualified, strong candidates based on the unique needs of each hiring team
  • Evangelize theSkimm to prospective candidates through email and initial interviews or introductory phone calls
  • Support team-wide recruiting efforts, such as scheduling interviews, posting and sharing jobs and representing theSkimm to prospective employees or partners
  • Help in the development of a recruiting dashboard to track and report on key metrics for hiring processes
  • Prepare offer documents and share offer details with potential new hires, answering any questions they may have about the company and the culture
  • Communicate with candidates and internal stakeholders, ensuring all candidates have a positive experience regardless of the hiring decision
  • Work on recruiting related projects like building and delivering trainings and workshops for the company, as well as supporting other ad hoc projects in partnership with the People team


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 1-2+ years of experience in a lead-generating talent acquisition role, ideally within a start-up or fast-paced environment
  • Resourceful and creative sourcing techniques to find diverse top talent for positions across the business
  • Experience with hiring for a wide range of roles across multiple departments and levels
  • Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to engage professionally on the phone, in person and in writing with people of all levels
  • Enthusiasm for theSkimm and its products


WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • High level of motivation and drive with a willingness to succeed in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Experience with sourcing candidates on LinkedIn and other platforms
  • Experience with Greenhouse or similar applicant tracking systems
  • Experience with Google Suite of products
  • Strong pitching and negotiating skills

This is a full-time role with flexibility for remote work. Our office is based in New York, NY and is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our employees are working remotely. We are aiming to re-open our beautiful office in January 2022. When we do return, our workforce will be a hybrid model, meaning we will have employees in the office as well as employees working from home. We're still finalizing exactly what that will look like!
We will require vaccinations for anyone coming to our office. We are following CDC recommendations for any additional boosters, and will always follow CDC and NY state guidance on wearing masks in the office.
