ABOUT THE TEAM AND ROLE

The People Team at theSkimm works together to attract, engage, hire and retain top talent to help us grow and scale the organization. As an Associate Recruiter at theSkimm, you'll contribute to theSkimm's hiring needs and evangelize theSkimm's mission and core values internally and externally. You’ll provide best-in-class support to candidates and hiring teams alike and may also own full-cycle recruiting for a handful of opportunities on the team.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Working closely with recruiters and hiring teams to understand current hiring needs and priorities
  • Identifying and targeting passive candidates for current and future hiring needs across the organization
  • Evangelize theSkimm to prospective candidates through email and initial interviews or introductory phone calls
  • Support team-wide recruiting efforts, such as posting and sharing jobs and representing theSkimm to prospective employees or partners
  • Communicating with candidates and internal stakeholders, ensuring all candidates have a positive experience regardless of hiring decision
WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS
  • 1-2+ years of experience in a lead-generating talent acquisition role, ideally within a start-up or fast-paced environment
  • Resourceful and creative sourcing techniques to find diverse top talent for positions across the business
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to engage professionally on the phone, in person and in writing with people of all levels
  • Enthusiasm for theSkimm and its products
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
  • High level of energy, motivation and drive with a willingness to succeed in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Experience with sourcing candidates beyond LinkedIn
  • Experience with Greenhouse or similar applicant tracking systems
  • Experience with Google Suite of products
  • Strong pitching and negotiating skills
