We’re looking for a Director, Compensation who can support (and help us shape and evolve) the strategic vision of our compensation programs + effectively operationalize all processes related to compensation. Reporting to the Director of People, this person will have the opportunity to take over the day-to-day management of our compensation programs and further improve and refine them to ensure they are competitive and inclusive - supporting our efforts to attract, motivate, reward and retain top talent at Ro.
What You'll Do:
- SME | Serve as a subject matter expert on broad based global salaried and hourly compensation matters + the evolution of these as our company continues to grow
- Comp Structure | Execute global job evaluation and range setting for new roles (and evolution of existing) using relevant market data and insights, including a strong understanding of the roles at Ro vis-a-vis the broader talent market for them
- Comp Packages | Analyze internal and external data to make recommendations for competitive pay packages for candidates, existing Ro’ers and team-specific pay strategies/approaches
- Market Intelligence | Participate in market surveys and benchmark best practices in order to maintain competitive positioning to the market; seek ways to enhance our data sources, build industry networks, and keep up with market trends
- Comp Process | Manage bi-annual compensation review & planning as a part of our performance review cycle, including a comprehensive pay equity analysis
- Equity SME | Serve as an expert on equity compensation and the evolution of equity programs as the company continues to grow
- Variable/Incentive Pay SME | Create and manage incentive-based compensation programs with applicable populations
- Tool & Vendor Management | Manage compensation tools and associated vendor relationships + identify strong partners as needed for specialized projects or topics
- Training & Education | Establish training as well as self-service resources to empower managers, People Business partners, and Talent Acquisition to effectively understand, formulate and communicate compensation decisions aligned with our compensation philosophy + an aligned approach for employee education
- Communication | Help us establish effective ways of communicating total rewards to Ro’ers on both an individual (e.g. compensation statements) and collective (e.g. transparency of pay practices) basis
- Analysis & Reporting | Together with HR Operations, use data to help us uncover insights and drive effective decisions related to our compensation practices and investments
- Projects & Initiatives | Support ongoing global compensation analysis, projects, reporting and ad-hoc recommendations and reports
- Solution Orientation | Help hold our team accountable to “first principles,” our overall compensation philosophy and market realities when making decisions, but also demonstrate flexibility and creativity in ensuring we can compete for and reward top talent effectively
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in compensation analysis and administration
- Demonstrated experience in a Compensation role, specifically experience in job evaluation, salary structures and salary benchmarking + equity compensation
- Familiarity with HRIS technology, market data vendors and compensation tools; Zenefits, Radford and Pave preferred
- Exceptional Excel and analytical skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to learn and understand financials, and relay learnings to the business
- Exceptional prioritization and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously but take direction as needed
- Ability to thrive in a fast-evolving and, fast-paced environment
- Strong project management skills: good follow-through on cross-functional plans, projects and goals
- You are a self-starter who loves taking initiative and proactively provide suggestions to streamline and improve processes
