Our People team is growing at Conductor Founders Inc’s corporate HQ in New York City! The Director of Total Rewards is a newly created role responsible for the design, implementation, management and ongoing evaluation of our compensation and benefits programs. Leading the compensation and benefits team and working in partnership with the People Team and leadership, this position plays a key role in determining how we will optimize our total rewards offering to attract top talent, foster retention and enhance engagement in our growing organization.  This position reports to the Chief People officer.


As a key member of the People leadership team here are some of the ways you will be contributing to our continued success:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of Total Rewards, including base pay, executive compensation, incentive programs, LTI plans, health & wellness and 401(k)
  • Support company-wide Job Architecture/Levelling initiative to clarify and harmonize job titles, pay grades, career paths, and differentiated compensation structures.
  • Oversee and manage all programs, policies and processes related to benefits and disability leaves including short-term and long-term disability, FMLA, accommodations and other leaves..
  • Manage compensation cycles including annual base salary, promotion, bonus and equity review cycles. Collaborate with members of the People team to identify pay-for-performance links, develop compensation planning guidelines, and create manager training and employee communications associated with compensation cycles.
  • Leverage data analytics, insights, and industry practices to evaluate program effectiveness and, as appropriate, make recommendations for cost-effective program changes.
  • Manage the communication of compensation, benefits and wellness programs to achieve employee awareness and understanding of the programs offered.
  • Address benefits inquiries providing direction and assistance to associates regarding eligibility, claims, qualifying events and other benefits issues as they arise.
  • Complete salary benchmark surveys, maintain salary range structure, and prepare information regarding market competitiveness
  • Ensure all audit and regulatory processes for benefit plans are managed effectively and that our plans are compliant with relevant laws and regulations including ensuring all benefit program documentation and notices are updated and distributed.
  • Oversee the management of 401(k) plan including plan design, record keeping and compliance. This role is a member of the company’s Retirement Plan Committee and provides oversight to the management of Committee meetings including the agenda, meeting materials and follow-through on Committee approvals. Manage the working relationship with the external retirement plan advisor to the Committee.
  • Identify and manage working relationships with benefit plan providers, vendors, auditors and consultants, ensuring quality delivery.
  • Ensure that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behavior aligns with Conductor’s policies, procedures, and values.
  • Manage and oversee a Total Rewards Administrator

We would love to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in broad-based compensation, equity, executive, incentive plan strategy, design, and administration with at least 5 in a management role.
  • Experience in the design, development and administration of base and variable pay programs and benefit, 401(k) and leave programs is required.
  • Consultative in approach with the business and key stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, with demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple activities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and administrative skills
  • Highly collaborative, with a strong desire to support, enable, and coach others
  • High integrity with proven ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information
  • Stakeholder + Vendor Management
  • Employment law and HR compliance fluency
  • Familiarity with enterprise HR data systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and tools, including Excel
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively communicate compensation strategies at all levels, from administrative to the C-Suite
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing environment
  • Advanced certification (CCP, CEP, or CECP), preferred
  • Experience with global total rewards practices highly desired
