Noom is looking for a Head of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) to design, lead, and oversee a strategic and comprehensive DEIB agenda that advance Noom’s capacity to live its mission and deliver on its strategic objectives. This person will partner with our executive leadership team and department leads to integrate DEIB into core decisions, and lead a team that provides tangible, impactful, and effective programming throughout the organization.

This pivotal role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution with the ideal candidate being able to zoom in and out seamlessly. There is much excitement around this critical position, which we hope will drive lasting cultural and behavioral change and put Noom at the forefront of being a DEIB-first tech company.

What you’ll be doing

  • Champion a long-term vision and strategies to ensure Noom’s culture, systems, and processes support an environment that aligns with our mission, speaks to company values, and is inclusive for all
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership, internal stakeholders, and external consultants as needed to outline and implement a DEIB agenda that drives overall business outcomes and talent strategies
  • Develop strategies to build leadership capabilities to bring the vision to life on the front line and enable all employees feel psychologically safe to bring their authentic selves and are able to contribute their fullest    
  • Identify Noom’s most immediate learning needs and determine the best path forward in creating a teach-and-learn environment
  • Assess Noom’s internal environment by reviewing current structures, practices, and policies to ensure alignment with Noom’s DEIB goals; identify and prioritize biggest areas for opportunity to improve experience and outcomes from attracting talent through the full employee lifecycle
  • Partner with the communications team to enhance Noom’s internal and external voice and contributions on DEIB efforts
  • Develop and iterate on metrics, milestones, approach, and governance to drive effectiveness of DEIB efforts and continuous improvements
  • Expand Noom’s external DEIB footprint by serving as an expert voice in the tech community, leveraging a network of DEIB experts to help Noom progress and fill in gaps in knowledge and expertise, and recommend and support potential partnerships that support DEIB goals

What we’re looking for

  • At least 10 years’ significant professional work experience in advancing employee experience and talent strategy including DEIB in a complex, innovative organization 
  • 5+ years’ proven project management and strategic leadership experience and direct involvement with DEIB initiatives
  • Extraordinary track record of translating mission-driven vision to values-aligned action to high-impact results
  • Ability to be a self-starter and influence change in a fast-paced, ever-evolving, collaborative environment
  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills--with experience communicating complex information with clarity to diverse audiences across the organization and a track record of building trusted relationships at all levels of the organization from entry level to executive
  • Known for inspiring cross-functional and direct-team leadership and management skills 
  • Proven problem-solving trifecta of analytical, creative, and strategic skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, judgment, and discretion while still instilling trust and safety across all facets of the organization
