THE COMPANY

Perch is transforming the way people buy and sell their homes. Simplifying it all, to the way it should have always been; fair and true to market, straightforward, easy.
Every year in the U.S., $1.5 trillion of single family residences transact, generating over $120 billion of fees in a process that has changed little in decades. For the average American, the home purchase and sale process takes months, creates anxiety and is filled with uncertainty and hassle.
Perch offers a modern alternative, making one of life's biggest decisions -- the sale and purchase of a home –so stress free, fair and simple that people cannot imagine any other way.
Perch is headquartered in New York City and has 85 employees in New York and Texas. We have raised $250 million in financing from top tier investors including: Firstmark, Accomplice and Juxtapose.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As the first Head of People for this transformative business, you’ll be at the helm of building out a thoughtful people function that supports a growing team in 3 locations, across almost every facet of HR.
While this level of focus on progressive people initiatives is not generally prioritized until a company has reached a greater employee headcount, the CEO/Founder of Perch is passionate about providing team members with the right support, management and development early on, which in turn provides the business with an even greater strategic advantage for having done so. Your personal drive and sense of accountability means you’re not only comfortable with autonomy, but thrive on its presence within your role. You also pride yourself on being someone that people are comfortable confiding in and relying on. And finally, you see the challenges of an early stage build as an opportunity to build unique, dynamic
solutions that work in an environment where people love taking calculated risks. This is a best-ideas-wins workplace and you’ll be charged with supporting that spirit in everything ‘People’ that this company does.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Oversee and lead all efforts that support our People programs, including: Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation, Benefits, Culture/Engagement, Employee Relations and Facilities
Management
● Manage talent acquisition, from strategy creation to execution of supporting tactical plans
● Help us to support our incredible, low ego culture where we collectively value an innate drive for results, transparency in all that we do, teamwork, diversity and a relentless pursuit of continuous
improvement
● Effectively manage a team of 3 including a Director of Talent Acquisition, Talent Acquisition Manager and Office Manager
● Approach your work product with a clean slate, never relying on a playbook but rather crafting solutions customized for our needs
● Coach and collaborate with Leaders on talent attraction, retention and development initiatives, particularly as they relate to high caliber and values-aligned talent
● Handle all employee relations issues with the highest degree of empathy and respect
● Work alongside CEO and Board to define our compensation philosophy, strategy and implementation utilizing best practices around market research and data
● Act as the champion for the Perch employer brand both internally and externally: help us drive a culture and reputation for the highest standards that are consistently woven through our field and HQ
workforces.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
● Minimum of 7-10 years of functional experience with prior team management
● Preferably experienced working within tech/tech driven industry with a high preference for experience with non-exempt workforce, as well
● Operational expertise in building/running or overseeing scalable People programs across different geographies and field teams, a plus
● Ability to travel ~1 week/month to gather on the ground experience with all of our team members and appropriately apply those learnings to the initiatives you’re leading and solutions you’re building
● Knowledge of and genuine passion for D&I programs and initiatives
● Track record of successful goal orientated work style
