Are you interested in creating and building policies that will transform a high growth operations company? Motivate, is seeking an energetic, service-oriented and results-driven Regional Director of People.  The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development of the People team and of employee engagement across the United States and will facilitate the creation and delivery of consistent firm-wide local policies. This role will be split into a west coast and east coast head, with each reporting directly to the Chief People Officer.

About the Role

  • Continuously coach, develop and grow the People team. Set a high bar for the team to think boldly and creatively, and then funnel that energy into concrete processes and execution plans.

  • Work with the field operations team to align employee strategies with business objectives.  Improve and institutionalize processes and lead process changes designed to help the People Team scale with Motivate’s dynamic growth

  • Assess, anticipate and partner in resolving People-related needs and issues across the company.

  • Develop strong partnerships across the firm to deliver employee engagement and management development

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant legal requirements related to managing People.  Reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance while ensuring that our remain People-centered.

  • Evaluate, monitor and report on performance of People programs

  • Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit, integrate and retain talented People, ensuring effective, efficient and legally compliant processes; train line managers to recruit and assess talent consistently, effectively and in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Provide guidance and consultation to operations on People (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) and more broadly on organizational design (business unit structure, workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning).

 

 

About you

  • You have 8+ years of People experience in a fast paced, high growth environment, with experience as a direct manager of at least one team member

  • You enjoy developing, coaching and training teams of HR Professionals and operational managers, and you are constantly looking for ways to learn and improve your craft

  • You have knowledge of all aspects of People management including talent acquisition, People development and training, compensation practices, performance management, culture development, employee/union relations and federal, state and local employment laws.

  • You thrive in a dynamic, high pressure work environment

  • You are a “hands on” professional who understands how to balance the “deep-dive” with the big picture

  • You are excited about the idea of building and creating, especially when it comes to company culture and the strategies that drive culture

  • You are a team player who understands the value of leading by example

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • You understand the importance of quality data and are more than comfortable working with HR data, spreadsheets, documents and presentations

  • Additional degrees or certifications relevant to the role
