Who you are:

You are a highly self-driven, organized and proactive human resources professional with a strong track record in partnering with the business to solve problems, serve as a sounding board, and provide guidance and support to both employees and managers.

You take a high touch approach but know that rolling up your sleeves, being in the weeds, being hands-on and wearing many hats is part of the day-to-day at a rapidly growing company. You enjoy building scalable processes from scratch, and can quickly pivot from strategy to execution across all People Operations areas with a particular focus on employee relations, performance management, onboarding and development. You are knowledgeable and experienced across core HR areas including compliance, benefits, total rewards, and immigration. You are excited to work with and provide support to all levels, including senior stakeholders and management.

You understand the importance of a highly satisfied and engaged workforce, believe in and are driven by Dataminr's mission, and are ready to take ownership in a fast-paced, demanding tech startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as main point of contact for employee relations and requests with support from and escalation to senior HR leaders, legal and senior managers as appropriate
  • Provide performance management coaching to employees and managers
  • Partner with business and People Team colleagues to build, execute and nurture HR processes, practices and policies throughout the entire employee lifecycle including:
    • New Hire Onboarding including offer letters, orientation, new hire paperwork, etc. across 6 office locations
    • Benefits administration, including open enrollment, renewal, 401K, workers compensation, unemployment claims, employment verification, leaves of absence, COBRA, etc.
    • Internal mobility, compensation cycles, promotions, and employee development
    • Immigration processes, including working with managers, employees and outside counsel
    • Administration of offboarding processes and procedures
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant employment laws in all appropriate jurisdictions including staying abreast of new and updated regulations
  • Help manage and administer HR systems and infrastructure
  • Leverage data and provide analysis and insight of people trends, internal and external
  • Continuously identify and support opportunities for process improvement and scalability across the company
  • Work on additional projects and initiatives as they arise

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 4-5 years of progressive experience in HR including demonstrated success as a partner to the business
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Experience within high growth and fast paced company environments
  • In-depth understanding of employment laws and compliance practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of seniority
  • Ability to act swiftly under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and processes
  • Strong sense of urgency, initiative and problem solving skills
  • Keen organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities while maintaining superior attention to detail
  • Ability to constantly exhibit the utmost professionalism and integrity in representing the department and Company
  • Experience working with HR systems and tools required including performance management; BambooHR a plus
  • Experience with Google productivity tools, including Docs, Spreadsheets, Gmail, and Calendar
