The Role: 

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will support the talent management of our Technology, Product, and Learning teams. You will serve as a trusted advisor on team planning, performance management, leadership coaching, organizational design, employee relations, compensation, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) efforts to support a scalable and progressive people organization in a fast-growing technology company. Reporting to the Senior People Partner, you will support project management and talent practices and other key initiatives, including advising managers on matters related to teams and talent management, and creating client-ready materials. You’ll establish yourself as a trusted advisor and will maintain a nuanced understanding of team and business challenges in order to support managers in solving team challenges. You will also propose practical, scalable solutions that fit and enhance Newsela’s culture within a mission-driven talent base and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Why We’ll Love You:

You have 2+  years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or HRBP capacity. You have proven success coaching leaders on matters related to teams and talent management, with demonstrated success integrating DEIB philosophies and practices into all aspects of talent management. You establish yourself as a trusted advisor by building rapport, providing expert guidance, and having an understanding of team and business challenges, ideally including challenges and considerations specific to Technology teams. You’re also adept in serving as an internal expert on labor laws and compliance requirements (FLSA, independent contractors, etc.). You are a problem-solver with proven ability to identify trends or issues within a team and propose solutions to address the core factors influencing the team and people aspect as well as larger business factors. You are able to balance between employee engagement, team culture, business needs, while maintaining a focus on diversity, equity, including and belonging.
