OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a generalist HR professional with broad EMEA experience, more specifically across Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Denmark. You will work with and coach managers, providing confident advice and guidance to resolve HR issues, develop solutions and seek continuous improvement. You will be confident managing your own workload, working as part of remote team, and keen to develop and progress in HR while living our values and putting our people at the heart of everything we do. This role will ideally be located in the Netherlands but open to remote location in EMEA for the right candidate. Reporting to the Sr. Director HR, EMEA you will also manage one direct report.
OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:
· Provide guidance and support to Managers / Supervisors on company policies / procedures and employment legislation, including assessing and advising on the commercial risk within an ER case.
· Provide advice to employees on terms and conditions of employment and HR policies and procedures.
· Regularly review and improve current people policies and service- developing quick reference user guides / support and training for line managers.
· Guide leaders in engagement with works councils and associates
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies, practices and processes in line with legislative changes and practices.
· Engage in global HR initiatives and embed in region while partnering with COE/Process Owner as required to ensure required localization.
· Manage the processing of HR documentation for all stages for the employee lifecycle as per company policies and procedures and ensuring compliance.
· Prepare letters and supporting documentation for salary, position and location changes.
· Monitor sickness absence issues highlighting concerns with Manager and discussing recommendations for managing case.
· Support proactive management of ER cases – advising, coaching and influencing while proactively reviewing and monitoring trends.
· Ensure all queries / cases are responded to and resolved in a timely manner, fairly, consistently, commercially and pragmatically.
· Ensure managers are upskilled to deal with people in a fair and effective manner through developing and delivering training and activities to support this.
· Support the EMEA HR team when managing initial HR queries
· Maintain people related data ensuring it is relevant, up to date and compliant in partnership with the HR Operations Coordinator
· Ownership of the new starter/onboarding process including facilitating inductions
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Demonstrated competence in broad areas of Human Resources
· General knowledge of employment law for respective countries with expertise in compliance, best practices, and trends
· Lead the engagement and partnership with works councils and associates
· Ability to use discretion and judgment to resolve sensitive issues; demonstrated integrity and ethics in handling confidential information
· Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly-changing environment by prioritizing situations which require sense of urgency
· Comfort with ambiguity and ability to use sound judgement to drive complex issues to resolution and influence to achieve results
· Proficient in HR information systems and MS Office
· Ability to analyze data, understand trends and beginning to develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
· Experience managing cross-functional programs and initiatives
· Human Resources certification or professional Human Resources affiliations, a plus
· Work experience in an international work environment and complex matrix organisation
· Fluent level of business English with Dutch, German or other European languages a plus
· Comfortable with ambiguity and quickly changing organization (e.g. unclear or changing direction)
· Quick learner with an eagerness to understand and a drive to continuously improve
· High attention to detail and process-oriented mindset
· Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and sound business-judgment
· Able to easily communicate with and adjust communication style to influence multiple stakeholders at different levels of the organization
· To work in a global virtual environment without physical proximity of team members, but still able to work in a collaborative manner.
· To work in a project environment with periods of high levels of ambiguity and pressure.
