About Stellar Health:

Healthcare costs are one of the biggest problems in the United States today - and Stellar Health wants to solve this. We offer tools and services that help Healthcare Providers (doctors and support staff) improve the quality of care they provide. In the end, these improvements make patients healthier, drive down costs, and make the healthcare system much more efficient.

Stellar Health’s App is used by 100s of Medical Groups and 1,000s of primary care providers and we continue to grow our network due to our early success.  In the years since we were founded, we have proven that our business makes a real difference for networks, providers, and patients.

It’s an exciting time to join Stellar: we have a proven product and operating model and are well funded. Our founding team covers a wide range of experience and skills - having built multiple best-in-class technology products in their careers, with deep healthcare knowledge and experience in starting successful companies from the ground up (more about the company at https://stellar.health).

About the position:

Stellar’s HR Team is growing and we are looking for an experienced Manager, People Operations. Reporting to our Director of HR, the Manager, People Operations will focus on two key areas:

  • 70% Talent Management, which includes everything from employee experience and inclusion, to engagement surveys, manager training, onboarding, and career development. You'll be responsible for building out the programs and processes to keep employees engaged, drive high retention, and ensure we are developing high performers
  • 30% Compliance (aka the stuff that keeps the lights on), which includes helping our Talent Acquisition team with immigration questions, managing our relationship with our PEO, updating our handbook when needed, maintaining our office, and providing answers to employee questions about payroll, benefits, and other day to day issues

In addition to these two areas you will manage -and serve as a mentor to- our Office and People Ops Coordinator. As we grow, you will have the opportunity to continue to grow your team and take on more responsibility as a Business Partner.

As part of the HR team, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Identify opportunities to implement and improve HR programs and policies. Manage the rollout of these programs, including communications to employees
  • Manage and facilitate our Performance Review process, Employee Engagement surveys, and our Learning & Development programs
  • Manage day-to-day people operations, ensuring the experience for in-office and at-home employees is excellent
  • Serve as a main point of contact for employee questions regarding company culture and other HR policies and procedures
  • Manage the employee lifecycle after hire with a focus on employee experience and company culture with special attention to onboarding and employee development
  • Partner effectively with the Talent Acquisition side of the HR Team on onboarding, branding, and communicating out growth paths to incoming employees

As  a People Ops Manager, you will need to  have:

  • At least 7 years of experience in a HR role, preferably focused in operations and/or learning and development
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent formal education in HR, Organizational Behavior, or I/O
  • Prior people management experience and demonstrated experience growing the careers of direct reports
  • Previous experience rolling out and scaling people processes
  • Preference for individuals who have built engagement, L & D, and diversity programs in previous roles
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support employees
  • Ability to “roll with the punches” as priorities shift and projects are rescoped
  • Can-do attitude and strong collaboration skills. You will work cross functionally with many Stellar Team Members

Pay, Perks & Such:

We offer a full slate of benefits, including competitive salaries, stock options, medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverages, a 401k program and flexible vacation.

Note on COVID response:

At this time, Stellar is fully remote although our NYC-based office is open for those who wish to use it. Starting in January 2022, we will transition to a hybrid work environment for Stellar NYC employees and will be supporting both in-office and remote work. If you would like to learn more about our COVID response measures and Return to Office plans, please mention this when you speak with a Stellar Recruiter.

Stellar Health is an equal opportunity employer and we are open to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.

We believe that diverse teams -and the different identities, cultures, and life experiences our team members bring to the table- enable us to create amazing products, find creative solutions to interesting problems, and build an inclusive working environment.

An Insider's view of Stellar Health

What are some things you learned at the company?

I've learned so much about startups! When I joined, we were much smaller. Every level-up has brought new challenges and exciting problems. Witnessing all the growth and change has been an incredible learning experience.
