People Analytics Specialist at Newsela
The People Analytics Specialist will build metrics and reporting capabilities to help us measure the success of our programs and the employee experience. You will manage all people-related data--from recruiting and candidate metrics through the employment life cycle. You’ll be continually working toward improvement of our HR and recruiting data systems, and the maintenance and analysis of the data in those systems. Your work will ensure that we’re thinking about our people data accurately, holistically, and in a way that allows us to track and answer questions about the candidate and employee experience at Newsela to influence internal decision making.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
In this newly created role reporting directly to the Director of People, you get to build solutions to solve real challenges and answer questions with measurable impact. You’ll have the opportunity to identify measures of what makes us successful as a company and within our teams, and to help improve the overall employee experience. You’ll get to identify what metrics matter and figure out how to track the data and build the reporting. You’ll also get to learn multiple aspects of people operations from a growing team.
Why We’ll Love You:
You have a curiosity for how data can drive decisions about people, career paths, hiring decisions, and whether employees love working here. You love spreadsheets and numbers and data, and can easily take a large amount of data, organize and maintain it, and synthesize it based on user needs and insights -- experience working with HR data via UltiPro, Culture Amp, and/or Greenhouse is a plus. Aside from your expertise in data analysis, you’re a skilled storyteller, and love deploying data visualization (perhaps via Looker) to help paint the picture. You have a high attention to detail and can prioritize quality of information alongside analysis and presentation.
