As a People Operations Associate, you will be the glue that holds the organization together through your day-to-day interactions with the team, knack for simplifying processes, and desire to deliver a stellar (and, most importantly, fun!) employee experience to newcomers and tenured employees alike. 


We’ll look to your project management and organization skills to build processes and support programming that will directly influence how our team works. One day, you’ll build out onboarding processes and be the welcoming face to set our new hires up for success. The next, you’ll have a hand in executing internal back-end programs around payroll, HR, benefits, 401k, and more. All the while, you’ll continue to evolve our remote first culture – putting the right tools in place, establishing norms, and setting our team up to succeed while we work across time zones.


This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to build a career in People Operations – you’ll get exposure to the entire employee lifecycle and have a hand in creating practices that directly impact how we scale.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with our Senior People Operations Manager to develop ongoing employee engagement programming, company events, and recognition programs.
  • Drive our onboarding processes, including organizing and facilitating new hire orientation.
  • Manage our Skillshare HR programs – including benefits, 401k, payroll, and more. You’ll help employees to fully understand their benefits, and partner with our benefit providers to triage and resolve claims in a timely manner. 
  • Oversee compliance requirements such as Form I-9 verification, UI Claims, and EEOC reporting. 
  • Identify and implement improvements to our day to day workflows that result in increased efficiency and a simplified employee experience.
  • Provide fast and accurate support for employees ensuring a great experience across internal operations for a remote-first team, leveraging systems and tools to automate and eliminate manual work where possible.

Why we're excited about you:

  • You have 2+ years of People Operations or HR experience in a dynamic, fast-moving company.
  • You have direct experience facilitating orientation and executing programming/events.
  • You have a proven ability to work across multiple people systems while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

  • You are excited to support a fully distributed team and are looking to garner expertise in your role through the lens of being remote-first at scale.
  • You’re able to work independently and collaboratively with the team in a fast-paced environment with varied projects (aka – you’re extremely organized).
  • You have a working understanding of employee benefits.
  • You’re a strong communicator, both written and verbally.
  • You have strong technical and troubleshooting skills: Google Suite, Zoom, and intranet management expertise is a plus.
