People Operations Coordinator (Contract)

We are seeking a People Operations Coordinator (Contractor) who is passionate about cultivating a seamless and best-in-class employee experience for our distributed workforce. This person will play an integral role on the People Operations team by providing daily HR administration and colleague support. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and customer service. Please note this would be a 30 hour per week role for a 3 month period. What You'll Do:
- Assist with day to day functions of the People Operations team via administrative and project-based support, partnering with the People Operations Manager to do so
- Be the primary point of contact for Pumpkin HQ and manage the day-to-day office operations including liaising with building management, managing office keys, mailing out new hire welcome boxes, ordering office supplies & snacks, receiving packages and mail, reception duties when onsite, and keeping the office tidy and running smoothly
- Assist with the new hire onboarding experience by coordinating and scheduling new hire orientations and meetings, owning our Pumpkin University and Buddy programs, and making sure our new employees are set up for success, often working cross-functionally to do so
- Support in documenting and sharing out Pumpkin best practices and standard processes and policies
- Provide additional support to the People Operations team in areas such as company outings, events, and other People related projects
- Triage general questions and inquiries received from People team members and other stakeholders
What We’re Looking For:
- 1-3 years in an HR or People Operations support role, or 2-4 years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-service oriented and can proactively support a hybrid and distributed team
- You’re a problem solver, deadline driven, and highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and pitch in wherever help is needed, and take on additional duties and tasks
- A collaborative and flexible style, with a passion for change and continuous improvement
- You’re able to establish, manage and leverage relationships with internal and external partners and vendors
- Experience in high-growth or startup environment preferred
