Are you a people person? Do you like helping others solve problems and navigate their own way?

You will work alongside key stakeholders to craft and carry out people programs to foster employee fulfillment and organizational effectiveness. You’ll help to deliver high-impact initiatives, design innovative programs, and develop processes across a myriad of strategic HR functions--including people development, talent management, org planning, employee relations, HR compliance, benefits, and compensation. You will get to play an integral role in continuing to develop Hinge’s people strategy, enhancing people practices & culture, and even building some processes from the ground up!

Responsibilities

  • Respond to HR-related questions and matters that span a bevy of areas (including immigration, benefits, and onboarding/offboarding) while wearing your compliance goggles (i.e. maintaining documentation, staying current on employment law, and leveraging outside counsel) where necessary.
  • Collaborate with people team leadership and other relevant cross-functional stakeholders to drive people programs and talent model strategy--including performance management, compensation, employee retention, and internal communications.
  • Partner with the Head of People to promote a culture of learning by supporting leaders and emerging leaders with unbiased perspective, counsel, and direct & caring feedback and providing coaching/guidance on skill-building, professional development, career pathing, change management, collaboration, and handling sticky situations to resolution.
  • Constantly be evolving people ops practices by analyzing trends and utilizing data to inform, develop people programs, and influence change. You’ll also seek opportunities to leverage technology and/or more automation wherever you spot inefficiencies to better Hinge practices.

Qualifications

  • Incredible attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • An open-minded mindset, with a can-do attitude in a complex, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong teamwork & stakeholder management skills.

Who You Are:

  • You understand HR programs including total rewards, coaching, performance management, compliance/labor relations and experience using a complex HRIS system (Workday)
  • You have natural, authentic people skills. You have a knack for building trust-based relationships at all levels. You are a great listener, possess strong interpersonal skills, and are quick to build trust. You maintain objective, honest, confident, and clear communications--both written and verbal.
  • You would describe yourself as nimble. You know how to zoom out to think on behalf of an organization and can zoom in to tackle nuances at an individual level. You can pivot quickly on-the-fly--a listening ear to a concerned employee one moment and a trusted
  • advisor to leadership the next.
  • You hold a self-starter mindset and take comfort in significant responsibility--no matter how administrative or strategic it is.
  • You are fluent in “people problem-solving.” You’re a quick study who can chart the best course of action while accounting for potential impact across people, teams, and the company.
  • You are aligned with Hinge’s Principles. You believe in the impact of building a high-performing culture, understand the work that is necessary to keep employees engaged to meet company goals, and are willing to do whatever it takes to get us there. You know how to use data and tech to glean insights.
  • You have gumption to take the wheel before being asked. You consistently raise the bar on delivering a top-notch product. You are a self-driven and diligent project manager who is highly motivated, highly process-driven with exceptional attention to detail, and super-organized with great follow-through.

Our Company

Hinge is the dating app for people who want to get off dating apps. In today’s digital world, singles are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, in person, where it counts. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. On Hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games. Instead, you’ll meet your most compatible matches and you’ll have unique conversations over what you’ve shared on your detailed profile. It’s a natural way to find a great first date. Currently, 3 out of 4 first dates lead to second dates, we’re the #1 mobile-first dating app mentioned in the New York Times wedding section, and we’re the fastest growing dating app in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Our Culture

  • Authenticity: Share your genuine thoughts and opinions directly.
  • Courage: Invite and deeply consider challenges and criticism.
  • Empathy: Be empathetic, communitarian and trustworthy.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
